The Vision

I want to build a new Free and Open Source Saas for the Indian Youth audience to consume and help them become sharper individuals for the future.

I want to build a newsletter or a modern newspaper and the mission and vision of this newspaper would be the empower and present the individuals of India, the young people hungry to make an impact on the world’s future - a newspaper and a portal to self reflect with true knowledge about the world. This paper would focus on providing an Individual news channels, essyas, blogs, critical thinking blogs, wordle, quizzes in a newspaper styled format automatically created and curated by a very responsible and smart and intelligent AI. I want people to subscribe to this and help prepare for whatever they want to prepare for - an IAS exam, a corporate interview, an engineering betterment blogs and programs, anything that can make an individual sharp. I just want this to be one side interactive (rather than complicating this by making this into an interactive social media) I just want to build out agents that create blogs and present them in the form of ‘Times of India’ format and send it to people everyday. I want people to interact with me through this. I want this app to be in NextJS and vercel ai sdk easily deployed and testable on vercel.

I have stole this name from a school friend of mine, Hemali Angne, I remember her and a teammate of hers during an art hackathon built out a smart newspaper called "The vision", I like the theme of it, an urban indie newspaper for the hungry, the restless, the ones who want to know everything and do something about it.

I wrote this with a vapid ferver and a burning fever — the kind that makes you believe the thing you are building is the most important thing in the world. Maybe it is. Maybe that is enough.

The machine behind it all is quiet, invisible, and beautiful. Every night at midnight, a cron job wakes up. It does not sleep like you do — it does not dream — but it does something close. It reads the world. A Scout Agent pulls the day's top stories from across the web, filtered by what you care about — UPSC, technology, finance, science, the long arc of geopolitics. It passes those raw headlines like a note slid under a door to the Editor Agent, which is the soul of this whole thing. The Editor speaks in a voice I will spend weeks teaching it — sharp, warm, Indian, intellectually honest, never dumbed down. It writes the stories the way a brilliant friend would explain the news to you over chai.

Then the Formatter takes over. It arranges the prose into sections — Top Stories, the Deep Dive Essay, a Quiz, a Career Corner, a Word of the Day — and hands it to the Personalizer, which knows you. It knows if you are preparing for an IAS exam or trying to understand large language models or just trying to read something that does not make you feel stupid. It builds your newspaper. Then the Delivery Agent sends it to your inbox before you wake up.

Five agents. One pipeline. Zero social media. Just you and the page.

The tech stack is clean and intentional. Next.js 16 on the frontend — React Server Components, Turbopack, the whole modern apparatus. Supabase for the database and authentication, free for the first fifty thousand users, generous and open. Vercel to deploy and host, with cron jobs that fire the pipeline every night. Resend to handle the emails — three thousand a month on the free tier, enough to start. For the LLMs, Grok 4.1 Fast — sub-second responses, a two-million token context window, the best cost-to-quality ratio available right now. The entire AI layer runs through the Vercel AI SDK, which makes swapping models as easy as changing a variable.

This is open source. All of it. Because the Indian youth does not need another locked garden. They need a window — wide open, clear glass, facing outward.
